In Brief: Pinotage is the offspring of Pinot Noir and Cinsault. He gets his earthy, cherry-driven profile from Pinot and his austere rusticity from Cinsault, not to mention a bit of smoke. It gets a bad wrap for being difficult to get right, and too often its flavor resembles used tires more than red currants. But not this bottle. Earth is perfectly balanced with fruit and we're left with a lovely expression of Pinotage.
